Standardized Z-Score Indexing
To maintain standard assessments across varying tracks and slot difficulties, AIMLOlympiad utilizes a **Z-Score Normalization** mathematical model:
Where X is the candidate's absolute score, μ (mu) is the mean cohort score, and σ (sigma) is the standard deviation. This protects candidates from slot difficulty variance.
Speed-Accuracy Weighting (Tiebreakers)
If multiple candidates achieve matching Z-scores, the grading index evaluates attempt speeds:
Grading Priority:
- Primary parameter: Total number of correct answers.
- Secondary parameter: Live review audits (zero infractions verified by webcam).
- Tiebreaker parameter: Least total time elapsed (in seconds) during exam completion.
